Adding cores slows data-intensive applications Multicore Is Bad News For Supercomputers, by Samuel K. Moore

The Los Alamos supercomputer, Roadrunner, was slightly enhanced since June and narrowly fended off a challenge by the Cray XT5 supercomputer, Jaguar, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
