After the IDRE-HASIS team has reviewed and agreed to commit resources, staff may be assigned to work with you to conceptualize your project and identify possible institutional and extramural resources for realizing your vision.
The project plan developed in consultation with the IDRE-HASIS team will outline options for future project development from the core partners, and the commitment of partner resources will rest within each unit. As needed, it will also document the project goals and desired end product; establish a plan for developing the project specifications; analyze the management, staff, and technological resources required; determine basic project scheduling (including recommended milestones, tolerances, and dependencies); and offer recommendations for funding sources, quality criteria and control (including formative and summative evaluations), and risk assessment.
Your project plan is intended to be a living document and guideline for project progress, not a contractual agreement between units. The IDRE-HASIS planning team will monitor project progress and may make recommendations to adjust the plan based on progress, new funding opportunities, or project changes (new grants, new technology innovations, discoveries that unfold as project requirements are refined). The planning team will look for integration points between campus partners and work to assure that the workflow is effective and the transitions between stages and groups are as smooth as possible.
Even if the IDRE-HASIS team is familiar with your technology needs, it is still necessary to survey current technologies and assess whether your project might benefit from an upgrade. Moreover, most external and some internal funders will ask for a review of technologies in order to contextualize the “digital” contribution of your project.
