IDRE-HASIS Digital Project Pipeline Information Guide (Steps 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9)

Step 9. Concluding Your Digital Project

Roll Out

The rollout phase typically involves project testing and bug tracking, preliminary deployment in the classroom or community, and the creation of guidelines and documentation to explain the functionalities and uses of the platform. While projects "ramp-down" significantly at this stage, bug tracking and correction will continue as the project is tested.  It is important to remember that new functionalities are not introduced at this stage, but may become part of future grant applications or development phases of the project.

Evaluation

Evaluating the success of these partnerships is important. At the end of each major phase of the project, members of the IDRE-HASIS team will meet with the project technical lead and faculty collaborators to discuss the status of the project , any development changes or challenges encountered, the deployment process, and whether or not the goals and objectives of the project have been met. What we are most interested in is how satisfied you were with the development cycle of the project, and whether or not association with the IDRE-HASIS cooperative enabled you to finalize the different phases of your project satisfactorily. The results of these evaluation meetings allow us to continuously improve our process and improve the communication between campus partners for digital projects.

Maintenance

Once the project is developed, IDRE-HASIS continues to be engaged and involved in the deployment of your project. The specifics of this engagement differ from project to project, and should be specified in both the MOU and the project plan.

The IDRE-HASIS team will assist in developing an appropriate maintenance plan for your project, and work with you to assure preservation of your project content where desirable.  Some projects will have a short lifecycle, while others may qualify for inclusion in the long-term preservation efforts of the Library.

Project Enhancements

Additional development and project enhancements should not be considered part of the maintenance phase. If you wish to further expand your project beyond the scope and scale of what was agreed in the original MOU, a new project application should be initiated.
