Title: Towards a Petascale Geocollaboratory
Presented by: Richard Loft

Abstract
Rich will be speaking about NCAR's efforts to develop peta-scale computing, both in terms of a new laboratory they are proposing to NSF (for geoscience applications, i.e., including seismology, and space science) and the problems they hope to solve using it. We hope that such a laboratory could prove useful to researchers at UCLA, and can shine a light on the near term future of computational science.
