Title: IDRE Future Computing Lunch Meeting
Presented by: IDRE

Abstract

For the foreseeable future improvements in computing speed will be met by adding more and more core processors to a chip. Ensuring that your software will be able to take advantage of the theoretical improvement in computing speed will be a research issue faced by many of us. Choosing the best programming strategies will depend on many issues, including the size of memory on each core and the interconnect between cores and the main memory of the node.

We invite you to an IDRE lunch meeting on May 23 in order to discuss what several of us have heard at recent meetings on what a future computing unit will look like and to discuss strategies for parallel programming on these units.
