Abstract

This IDRE roundtable will focus on the new NSF program entitled, ³ Cyber-enabled Discovery through Innovation² (CDI). http://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=108366

It is anticipated that this program will solicit large Institute scale proposals as well as those from multiple and single PIs. Warren Mori will lead a discussion on how the UCLA scientific computing community should best respond to this opportunity. The announcement for this program should be made in October with a submission due date sometime in February. Funding for this program is expected to be $50 Million for 07/08 and grow to $250 Million over the next five years. It will cut across many of the NSF directorates with CISE being the major contributor. IDRE should be well positioned to submit an Institute scale grant and will assist those interested faculty through providing support and in forming partnerships for smaller multiple and single PI submissions.

Lunch will be provided.
