Mathematica

Software Central presents Mathematica on Campus, Wednesday, September 16, 10am to 11:30 in room PAB-4330 of the Physics and Astronomy Building.  There is no RSVP for this event and seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, so please be prompt. Below is a synopsis of the program.
 
This Mathematica presentation will demonstrate the key features that are directly applicable for use in teaching and research on campus. Topics of this technical talk include:

    * 2D and 3D information visualization
    * Creating interactive models that encourage student participation and learning
    * Practical applications in Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering and Mathematics
    * On-demand Chemical, Biological, Economic and Social data
    * Mathematica as a modern programming language
    * Symbolic interface construction

Prior knowledge of Mathematica is not required - new users are encouraged.
Current users will benefit from seeing the many improvements and new features of Mathematica 7.
 
This is a great opportunity to get faculty not experienced with Mathematica involved and excited.  Students are welcome.
